Ryan Chamberland stands with Maura Healey

Dear Gun Rights Supporters,

This is a ‘no-brainer for conservatives to defund Maura Healey’.

There is a very important election on Sept. 4th. in the 8th Worcester District. The 8th Worcester district is the towns of Bellingham, Millville, Blackstone, and Uxbridge.

One candidate, Mike Soter, would withhold funding from the AG’s office while the other candidate, Ryan Chamberland, has stated that he would not hold the AG accountable.

Ryan Chamberland’s answer on our candidate questionnaire indicates that he would stand with Maura Healey and NOT with his Republican colleagues and the law-abiding gun owners of his district and the Commonwealth.

Here the Vote on an Amendment offered by Brad Jones that was described in the house Journal as:

“by adding the following:— provided that no additional funding over the Fiscal Year 2017 appropriation shall be made available until an appropriate response is provided to the 57 and 82 legislators whose correspondence was dated July 23, 2016, and July 28, 2016, respectively, and further”

As you can see from the vote, every Republican in the House voted to withhold funding until she gave an answer. Ryan Chamberland told us in our Questionnaire that he’d stand with the Attorney General.

More Details below.

His Opponent, Mike Soter,  would defund Maura Healey

Additionally, On April 24, 2017, Republicans offered an Amendment to withhold funding from Maura Healey’s office.

Pending the question on adoption of the amendments, Mr. Jones of North Reading moved to amend it by inserting after the following: “0810-0000” [at “A”] the following: “by adding the following:— provided that no additional funding over the Fiscal Year 2017 appropriation shall be made available until an appropriate response is provided to the 57 and 82 legislators whose correspondence was dated July 23, 2016 and July 28, 2016 respectively, and further”. After remarks on the question on adoption of the further amendment, the sense of the House was taken by yeas and nays, at the request of Mr. Jones; and on the roll call 35 members voted in the affirmative and 123 in the negative.
